Constable, 22 from Fleet in Hampshire, made an outstanding Challenge debut last year as he and Hart GT made a seamless switch from the Ginetta GT4 Supercup. Claiming his first podium finish with a second place on his maiden Radical race weekend, Constable went on to join Dominik Jackson and Jerome de Sadeleer in a three-way title fight that went down to the final round of the season.

Constable scored a stellar haul of five race victories and seven further podium finishes to grab third overall in the standings. Now the former Dubai 24 Hours class winner and Ginetta GT4 Supercup class champion has vowed to return with Hart GT for a second term and full title assault.

Whilst Jac can’t yet get cracking on his championship mission as the worldwide motor racing fraternity holds formation under the safety car due to Covid-19, Constable is busy working for Ravenscroft Motor Company which, as an essential business, continue to provide car servicing and repairs for key workers.

Awarded the 2019 Radical Clerk’s award, for showing exceptional sportsmanship and upholding the fine reputation that Radical racers hold on the global racing scene, Jac will return to the Challenge paddock as one of the leading title contenders when racing does resume.

“I was really happy with our first year in the series. The SR3 was a bit of a jump from anything I’d done before, so to come out of the first few races with podiums and then fight for the title was unreal,” says Jac. “Learning the car was easy, it sat right in my head from day one. The way the car is built is so raw you get this fantastic feel for it through the bottom of your seat, whereas a GT car feels sluggish in comparison. I did an LMP3 test over the winter, but everything with the SR3 works for me, and the speed-to-cost ratio and level of competition is insane.

“The way the championship works gives a level playing field for everyone, but that means consistency is key. Everyone has the odd bad race but it’s the way you fight back that counts, like we did going from the back of the grid to finish second at Spa last summer. It shows we look after the car and we’ve got both consistency and strong pace.

“Knowing the car much better now, we should be off to a flying start and be able keep that momentum going all season to be well within reach of the title fight. I’ve raced with Nick [Hart] since graduating from karts and you couldn’t find a better team if you tried, so I can’t wait to get started.”

Hart GT Team Principal, Nick Hart commented: “It’s great to be heading back to Radical Challenge with Jac. He did a superb job in his debut year in what was only his fourth season racing cars. He excels in every car he’s given. He’s a very clever and clean driver with the raw pace to match. These are combined qualities that are often rare in a young driver, but have ensured his success in a short time racing cars, and were recognised with Jac being awarded the 2019 Radical Clerk’s Award.

“We hope to build on third in the championship and, sure, we have the title in mind. We were finding our feet with the new car last year and entered the championship having limited mileage with the SR3 due to our late decision to join the series. Now we’ve chosen to stay in the Radical paddock, we are going to move up to a two-car team as we’re ready to run a second SR3 driver who will benefit from working closely Jac and the team. We’re talking with a few potential drivers but would welcome hearing from anyone interested in racing in what must be one of the most competitive and fastest one-make series in the UK.”
